Michael Higgins vs The Tea Party

23 Aug

It’s an oldie, but a goodie. Michael Higgins tears apart Tea Party values, and for once, Michael Graham can’t get a word in edgeways.

too bad that wasn’t an accurate representation of the actual interview. It was just spliced together to make it seam like Graham couldn’t get a word in. At least put a link to the actual interview, so people can decide for themselves what points they agree with.
    Link to entire interview: http://media.newstalk.ie/extra/1602/popup
And by the way how’s that socialized medicine working in Europe? Oh yeah the entire continent is pretty much bankrupt.

We do sincerely apologise for not putting a link to the full interview. It was indeed very convincingly put together. However that does not remove from the fact that Michael Higgins made some vey good points that we agree with. Also, what an ignorant statement to say blame healthcare for the banking crisis. If it was down to healthcare for all, then America would not have had debt problems either, but it did, and even had to push its borrowing limit up further. The only reason debt is not soaring in the USA like it is in a lot of european countries is that Obama, and his left leaning party, have had the sense to invest in the economy. If you want to trumpet your comparatively more successful current economic state, you only have the democrats to thank.

      Healthcare spending (%GDP): US:17.6%, European average: 9.6%
Life expectancy: US: 78.7 years, European average: 79.8 years
      Source: OECD 2010.

Which health system seems to be performing better?

A stupid comment from a Tea Partier. Whatever next?
